I love riding my bike. Whether it is for pleasure, to run some errands, or even to commute, I love it. If you’re anything like me, the early departure of the snow has you really excited for bike season. Well, here in MN, a group has started a move called #30daysofbiking, in which regular folks like you and me, pledge to ride our bikes every day during April no matter how long or short the ride may be.

I discovered this movement a couple of years ago in my previous job and I have tried to stick to it since. I have to admit that I haven’t been on my bike every day this April (scandalous I know) but I have been making a large effort to ride more. This is made easier by the fact that I now live and work in St. Paul and this city lifestyle makes it so much easier to use my bike functionally.

I’d have to recommend trying to bike as much as possible to get over that pesky cabin fever. And even when the weather has been unfriendly, I have been ok with it. If there’s one thing living in the Midwest has taught me, it’s that if you can be outside, you should be, and enjoy it. Just remember, wear a helmet, and make sure if you try any sweet jumps that you aren’t in any danger and that plenty of people are watching. After all, it’s all about the fans.
