We had a little bit of early fall weather this last week. With August nearly on its way out and with it my favorite season, I have been thinking about what I’m going to do this fall.
I love cooking, so when colder weather comes and I’m not afraid of heating my apartment up I try out new recipes. So to feed my obsession, I need to get lots of ingredients, which brings me to my focus this blog; Farmer’s Markets.
I’m sure we’ve all been to or at least heard of a farmer’s market but I still think they bear mentioning. I love spending a weekend morning at the farmers market; I can get my coffee, breakfast, and stock up on my produce for the next week or two all for cheaper than if I had gone to a chain store.
This past weekend I was making my rounds getting produce and there was a band playing and they had a group of children just gathered around dancing with their parents. It was awesome to see people, even in such a crowded public market, taking the time to just relax and enjoy themselves. Unfortunately I didn’t have time to dance, perhaps next time.
Here are a few of my favorite Farmer’s Markets:
St. Paul Lowertown: Weekends (with events on certain weekdays in other locations) between May 2 and November 21 6:00am-1:00pm
Minneapolis: Weekends (with events on certain weekdays in other locations) 6:00am-1:00pm
White Bear Lake Farmer’s Market: Friday Mornings 8 a.m. to Noon, June 26 – October 30, 2015
