Account Opening and Usage

Minimum Amount to Open the Account

You must deposit $25 to open the account.

Rewards Qualifications

To qualify for the “REWARDS” features noted below, you must perform the following during the monthly statement cycle:

  • Have at least 15 debit card purchases post and settle (see below)


  • Have at least 1 automatic deposit (ACH) post and settle to your account
  • Have at least 3 automatic payments (ACH) post and settle your account
  • At least 1 Mobile deposit

Automatic payments do not include reoccurring payments using your debit card number.

Reoccurring payments from a debit card would be considered a debit card purchase.

Please note that the following activities do not count toward earning account rewards:

  • ATM-processed transactions
  • Transfers between accounts
  • Debit card transactions processed by merchants and received by Sunrise Banks as ATM transactions

Post and Settle of debit card purchases

Please note that transactions MUST post and settle to your account during the monthly statement cycle.  They may not be in a pending state to qualify as one of the qualifications.

Transactions may take one or more business days from the date the transaction was made to post and settle to the account.  Typically, the timing of settlement is dependent on the retailers processing the transaction.

Monthly Maintenance Fee

$10 Monthly Maintenance Fee will be waived

ATM Fee Refund

If you have met your qualifications during the statement cycle, we will refund you for ATM Fees imposed during the statement cycle by your institution and other U.S. financial institutions up to $15 per statement cycle.

ATM fee refunds will be credited to your account in the same statement cycle that you meet the qualifications.

If you close your account prior to receiving credit for the ATM refunds, you will not receive the reimbursements.

Interest Rate and Annual Percentage Yield (APY)

When the REWARDS monthly qualifications are met, the interest rate on your account and corresponding annual percentage yield will be tiered.  If your daily balance is $10,000 or less, the interest rate paid on the entire balance will be 1.5% with an annual percentage yield of 1.51%.  An interest rate of 0.21% will be paid only for that portion of your daily balance that is greater than $10,000.  The annual percentage yield for this tier will range from 1.51% to 0.21% depending on the balance in the account.

Interest Rate and Annual Percentage Yield

When the REWARDS monthly qualifications are not met, the interest rate on your account will be 0.01% and the Annual Percentage yield will be 0.01%. This interest rate will apply to the entire balance.

Balance Computation Method for Interest Calculation

We use the daily balance method to calculate the interest on your account.  This method applies a daily periodic rate to the principal in the account each day.  The period we use in the Statement Cycle.

Accrual of interest on Non-Cash Deposits

Interest begins to accrue no later than the business day we receive credit for the deposit of non-cash items (for example: checks)

Monthly Paper Statement Fee


Statement Fee Waivers

The $4.95 paper statement fee will be waived if you sign up for eStatements. The fee waiver begins the first full statement cycle you have eStatements.

Returned Deposited Item Fee

$4.00 per item

Account Closure Fee

$15.00 if account is closed for any reason within 180 days of account opening.

Overdraft Paid Item Fee*

$35 per item – for items greater than $5

$5 per item – for items under $5

Returned Item Nonsufficient Funds (NSF) Charge*

$35 per item – for items greater than $5

$5 per item – for items under $5

Overdraft/NSF Fee Waiver

As a courtesy you will be entitled to receive one Overdraft Paid Item Fee or one Returned Item Nonsufficient Funds (NSF) Charge waived per calendar year. The waiver will automatically apply to whichever occurs first

Negative Balance Fee

$30 after the 7th business day of having an overdrawn account and each consecutive 7 business day period the account is overdrawn

Stop Payment Fee

We charge $25.00 for each stop payment.

If you have told us in advance to make regular payments out of your account, you can stop any of these payments. Here’ s how:

Call or write us at the telephone number or address listed in this disclosure, in time for us to receive your request 3 business days or more before the payment is scheduled to be made. If you call, we may also require you to put your request in writing and get it to us within 14 days after you call.

This account is not to be used for commercial purposes.

Please consult our service fee schedule for a detailed listing of all bank fees that could be charged in connection with this account.

We reserve the right at anytime to require not less than 7 days notice in writing before any withdrawal from and interest bearing account.

*Overdraft and Nonsufficient fund fees apply to overdrafts created by check, in-person withdrawal, electronic debit, or other electronic means. Fee is charged for each presentment or submission.   You will be charged a NSF fee when we return, reject, or pay transactions against your account that would exceed your available balance. A transaction that you have authorized (such as a check or an ACH debit) may be presented or submitted multiple times and you could be charged multiple NSF fees on the same item if we return or reject the transaction multiple times.
