Sunrise Banks Gives Back to Toys for Tots

A group of people smile for a photo.

The team at Sunrise Banks takes pride in supporting our communities, especially during the holiday season. This year, Sunrise employees and customers teamed up to donate more than 600 toys and $1,475 in cash to the Toys for Toys campaign, sponsored by the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation.

All four Sunrise Banks branch locations served as drop-off sites for Toys for Tots. Employees and customers showed their generosity by giving new, unwrapped toys to children and teens in need across the Twin Cities. Branches collected Barbies, books, Squishmallows, trucks, sports equipment, stuffed animals, Lego sets and more for organizations to distribute to local families just in time for the holidays. One customer even created beaded necklaces, bracelets and earrings to donate to the campaign.

Sunrise Banks employees appeared live on KARE 11 News in mid-December to showcase the bank’s contributions to Toys for Tots.

“Being a force for good is one of our core values at Sunrise Banks,” says Erica Johnston, a business banking associate based at the Washington Ave. branch in Minneapolis. “We’re so thankful to all our customers and employees who made sure all children can experience the magic of the holidays, even if their families are going through hard times.”

In addition to collecting toys and donations, several Sunrise Banks employees volunteered at the Toys for Tots warehouse at Mall of America. There, they sorted piles and piles of donated toys, then boxed them to send to organizations that distributed them to families in need.

At Sunrise Banks, we’re always excited to find ways to support our community. Learn more about our impact in our 2022 Impact Report.
