Finance and Commerce has awarded Sunrise Banks Vice President of New Markets Tax Credits Mary Stoick with the Top Women in Finance Award, an honor that recognizes women who have done outstanding work professionally and in their community.
Stoick is one of numerous honorees from around the state. She will be formally recognized with other award recipients at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Minneapolis on Nov. 21.
Stoick has played an integral role in the New Markets Tax Credits (NMTC) program since joining Sunrise Banks in late 2017. She has been in charge of driving NMTC capital to a number of businesses in the Twin Cities, as well as looking for potential program partners.
Not only has Stoick managed the bank’s NMTC deals, she’s also done a great deal to educate the public and prospective clients on the program and its allocation process. She is executing these NMTC deals from start to finish and working with businesses to make sure the loans fit their specific needs.
“Mary has done an amazing job at Sunrise and we’re so happy to have her on board,” said Sunrise Banks Chief Sales Officer Mark Lucke. “She is more than deserving of this recognition.”
On top of her work at Sunrise, Stoick has also managed to volunteer her time to nonprofits across the Twin Cities.
She is currently a board member of Circus Juventas, a nonprofit performing arts school, and has previously worked with Abria Pregnancy Resources, YMCA Camp Widjiwagan, Twin Cities Public Television and the Junior League of St. Paul.
