The branches will close for good on March 15, 2021; Arcade and Vandalia customers will have their accounts transferred to the bank’s Como and University branches
(St. Paul, Minn. | Dec. 21, 2020) – Sunrise Banks will permanently close its Arcade and Vandalia branches on March 15, 2021.
Affected customers have been notified of the closures and will have their accounts automatically transferred to the bank’s Como and University Avenue branches. Arcade customer accounts will be transferred to the University Avenue branch; Vandalia customer accounts will be transferred to the Como Avenue branch.
No bank employees will lose their jobs as a result of the closure. All Arcade and Vandalia employees continue to work for Sunrise and have been transferred to new locations.
The Arcade and Vandalia branches have been closed since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Adoption of digital banking services, among other developments, has challenged Sunrise to rethink how it operates in 2020 and beyond.
“This was a really difficult decision, and one that we didn’t take lightly,” said Sunrise Banks CEO David Reiling. “We’ve developed strong relationships in these neighborhoods over the years and will continue to do all we can to support the Arcade and Vandalia communities.”
Customers will be able to continue making transactions – including use of the Arcadia and Vandalia night drops — at both branches up until March 15, 2021. The Arcade branch’s ATM machine will also remain operable until that time.
