About Andrea

Andrea Altamirano is the Vice President – Mortgage Program Loan Manager at Sunrise Banks. She manages the strategic relationships between customers and the mortgage loan officer team through a variety of techniques and partnerships. She acts as a consultant to clients and a resource to the bank in developing and retaining client business. Andrea also negotiates loan proposals, analyzes and evaluates credit requests, recommends appropriate credit grades, and manages growth of the company’s mortgage loan portfolio.

Previous Experience

Andrea first joined Sunrise Banks in 2016 as a mortgage loan officer. After a brief period with another company, she rejoined Sunrise in 2023 in her current role. Throughout her career, Andrea has worked for several financial organizations, including Wells Fargo, U.S. Bank, Associated Bank TheBANK of Edwardsville in St. Louis and Busey Bank in Chicago.

Andrea attended the University of Minnesota, earning her B.A. in Applied Economics with an emphasis in both Management and Finance.

Supporting Prospective Homeowners

With more than a decade in the mortgage industry, Andrea has worked with a wide variety of prospective homebuyers, including first-time homebuyers and immigrant families. She also works with nonprofit organizations and realtor groups to offer homebuyer workshops in both English and Spanish.

“Equal opportunity is one of the many reasons that motivates me to continue empowering new generations about homeownership,” Andrea says. “We should embrace homeownership early on and explore all the key elements involved in the process.”

Andrea says she is always going to be the “biggest cheerleader” for her clients. “My biggest reward is to see a family owning their home,” she says. “I have countless stories from clients about how owning a home has transformed their lives.”

Personal Interests

Outside of work, Andrea enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. They love to attend local farmers markets, outdoor movies and concerts. Andrea and her family also enjoy hiking and spending a day at the beach.
