Certificates of deposit accounts are often fundamental within retirement plans. However, there are many other savings accounts that you may want to consider. Different savings vehicles are better suited for different savings goals, such as saving for a big purchase, an emergency fund, or college tuition.

A Certificate of Deposit Account Registry Service (CDARS®) provides high-level protection by allowing you to spread your investments among multiple CD accounts at different banks, protecting them from one bank’s catastrophic failure. However, all accounts are managed under one umbrella with Sunrise Banks, the bank you already know you can trust.

We know that making sure your money is safe is your primary concern – and it’s our mission. If you are a super saver, some of your deposits might exceed the specified limits on your account to protect yourself from bank failure affecting your savings goals. Learn more about CDARS today!

  1. APY means Annual Percentage Yield.  Account subject to early withdrawal penalties if closed prior to maturity

  2. A penalty may be imposed for early withdrawal. The penalty will be equal to: 7 days interest if the withdrawal is made within the first six days after the deposit; 90 days interest if CD term is 1 year or less; 180 days interest if CD term is 2 years or less; 365 days interest if CD term is greater than 2 years; The annual percentage yield assumes interest remains in deposit until maturity; a withdrawal will reduce earnings.

  3. You will not be allowed to deposit additional money into the account during the term of the CD.

  4. You will be allowed to make one deposit into the account during the term of the certificate. The minimum amount you can deposit is $500, the maximum amount you can deposit is $50,000. You may exercise your option to exchange the interest rate on your account one time during the term of this account. You may exchange the interest rate on your account for the prevailing rate for this term and product. The interest exchange rate feature will be available during renewals, with the same exchange rate limitations as noted for this account.
