About Rick

Rick Beeson is the executive vice president for Corporate Development and Government Relations at Sunrise Banks. He also sits on the bank’s Board of Directors.

Rick’s career in housing and business finance spans more than 45 years, including more than 35 with Sunrise Banks. He spent 20 of those years as President and CEO of Sunrise-owned Park Midway Bank in Saint Paul.

Prior to joining Sunrise Banks, Rick worked at the Minnesota Housing Finance Agency and under the administration of Saint Paul Mayor George Latimer in the Department of Planning and Economic Development.

Serving the Community

Rick is recognized as a sought-after thought leader on community issues and as someone who is passionately interested in improving our great community.

Rick served on the Board of Regents of the University of Minnesota from 2009-2022, including as chair. He has also served as treasurer for the Saint Paul RiverCentre and the Saint Paul Conservatory for Performing Arts as well as chair of the St. Paul Area Chamber of Commerce and the Midway Chamber of Commerce.

Rick has been featured and interviewed by multiple news outlets, including the Minneapolis Star Tribune, St. Paul Pioneer Press, Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal and on Minnesota Public Radio.

Awards and Recognition

Among the honors bestowed upon Rick throughout his career are the City of St. Paul’s Outstanding Employee Award, Saint Paul & Midway Chambers of Commerce Volunteer of the Year, Minnesota Bankers Association Champion of the Year, SBA’s Minnesota Financial Services Person of the Year and the Saint Paul YMCA Distinguished Leader Award.

Education and Personal Interests

Rick earned his MBA from the University of St. Thomas and a B.A. in political science from the University of Minnesota. Playing sports with two robust grandsons and enjoying the Brainerd Lakes area are among his personal passions.
