About Bryan

2024 marks Bryan Toft’s 20th year in the financial services industry. He joined one of the original branches of Sunrise Banks, known back then as University Bank, in 2004. After leaving to lead a community bank in southern Minnesota, Bryan returned to Sunrise Banks in 2017. He was named to his current position in 2019. Embracing Core Values

Bryan says the combination of “mission and margin” is what excites him most about working for Sunrise Banks. He also is a big believer in the company’s Always Learning core value.

“Sunrise Banks is exceptionally innovative and unique, so there is always something new to learn, whether it’s about the Global Alliance for Banking on Values, fintech, or a groundbreaking community development program,” he says. “I think this value shows up in our courage to dig in, take risks, and find new ways to help others.”

Community Involvement

Outside Sunrise Banks, Bryan serves as both a board member and a volunteer for several Twin Cities organizations. He is a board member for Twin Cities Metro Certified Development Company (CDC) and Charter School Property, Inc. He also volunteers with Simpson Housing Services, a leading nonprofit assisting people experiencing homelessness.

Bryan and his wife also volunteered with AmeriCorps for one year in New York City. There, they worked for a nonprofit focused on reducing incarceration, improving behavioral health, and promoting recovery and rehabilitation.
